Heb je ook zo genoten van deze zomer?
Een update, we hebben elkaar zo lang niet gesproken.
Less is more......
Tijdens de afgelopen reis met onze zeilboot is deze uitspraak tot een ervaring geworden.
De ruimte waar we kunnen werken
is ongeveer 6,5 m2.

De materialen die ik mee kan nemen zijn beperkt.
Dat voelt bij het weggaan heel licht en opgeruimd.
Eenmaal aan het werk op de boot krijg ik spijt dat ik niet meer heb meegenomen, dat voelt gestressd.
Al werkend word ik blij van de 'beperking' omdat het rust
en focus geeft.
Pinhole
Eerste resultaten
Iets wat ik altijd al wilde doen is een workshop pinhole camera bij Plaatsmaken.
De foto's gemaakt op zee waren mislukt vanwege gebrek aan kennis en ervaring.
De workshop Pinhole fotografie, gegeven door Carel Lanters, een geweldig beeldend kunstenaar en pinhole fotograaf, was fantastisch.
De lichtval in ruimtes fotograferen vind ik echt geweldig!

We zijn al weer weken op land maar pas sinds een paar dagen voel ik me ook echt geland.
Het voor lange tijd verblijven in een veel kleinere community, zonder al te veel social media en telefoon is
een soort grote opruiming
in mijn hoofd en hart, hoe is dat voor jou?
Weer in de studio thuis werk ik op groter formaat voor nog meer helderheid en duidelijkheid in de vormen en in het karakter van de lijnen.
De tekeningen in kleur stuurden me als het ware de kant op van werken in zwart wit.
"Alles gaat op den duur over in zijn tegendeel" (I Tjing).

Did you also enjoy the summer?
I'd like to share a little update because we haven't spoken to each other for a long period.
Less is more....
This summer while sailing and working, these words became an experience.
The space in our sailing boat where we work is around 6,5 m2.

The materials I'm able to take with me are very limited.
When leaving it feels very light and clear.
Once on the boat, working, I regret not having more materials, it feels stressed.
While drawing this limitation makes me happy because it gives more focus and calmness.
Pinhole
First results
Something I'd always would have loved to do is a Pinhole workshop.
The pinhole photographs I made at sea with my digital camera were really crappy so I was happy I could finally do the workshop after our journey.
Our teacher was Carel Lanters, a fantastic visual artist and pinhole photographer.
I discovered that I loved capturing the light in spaces!

We are on land for several weeks now but only since a few days I feel rooted.
Being part of a small community for quite a long time -without social media, phones etc- clarifies my head and heart, how does it feel for you?
Back in my studio on land I'm exploring bigger surfaces and what it means for more clarity of the shapes and the character of the lines.
The latest colour drawings have been "directing" me towards the black and white drawings.
"Everything turns into its opposite in the long run" (I Thing).
